Arsenal have signed Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid on a permanent deal for £30m.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-year contract, joining on a deal worth around £30million upfront and £4million in add-ons and now leaves Real Madrid after six years, completing four loan spells during that time and making just eight senior appearances in La Liga for the Santiago Bernabeu club.
He was on loan at Arsenal for the second half of last season where he made 20 appearances and scored 2 goals but he was impressive for the gunners and had to go back to his parent club after the loan ended with hope that he’d be part of Real Madrid’s team this season but it turned out the other way round.
When Arsenal noticed he was not in Carlo Ancelotti’s plan, they moved swiftly and started negotiating with Real Madrid on a permanent and now the deal has been completed.
Odegaard will wear the no. 8 shirt.
