The frenzy on Sunday afternoon in North London other than Tottenham’s 1-0 win over Arsenal (courtesy of Son’s goal) is the shock news reported by Gary Jacob that Tottenham has agreed a fee with Inter Milan.
Now Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano has tried to calm down the excitement, releasing a statement that, according to Argentine outlet TyC (via InterNews.it), says Lautaro is perfectly happy at Inter and does not want to leave.
Alejandro Camano said: “Lautaro Martinez is happy at Inter and in Italy. His decision is to stay. The relationship with Inter is perfect. Lautaro Martinez is calm. Yes, it is true that there were offers, but today he is fine and we will sit down to talk about the future.”
Every one would understand Inter Milan’s stance on not striking such a deal with Romelu Lukaku set to leave the club and that will make them light in the attacking area and leave Lautaro as the only other Potent striker for the Italian champions.
Despite Lautaro’s agent quashing those rumors surrounding his client, Fabrizio also reported that Tottenham submitted a big some days ago so if it is anything to go by then a deal might still happen despite camacho’s statement.
Also, Tottenham would like to pair Lautaro with striker Harry Kane in a bid to convince him to stay but with the Striker still having to sort his future with the club, he might as well still leave and if he eventually leave the North London club then they might swoop in for Lautaro as a replacement.
Let’s not also forget Romelu Lukaku said he’d stay at Inter two months ago and now he’s close to joining Chelsea, so let’s see what happens with Lautaro Martinez.
