Gary Neville has claimed that Smith Rowe is more ruthless than what Cristiano Ronaldo was at 21. This comes after the Arsenal playmaker had an impressive outing over the weekend against Aston Villa.
The England youth international who has featured in all nine Premier League games this term, starred for the Gunners on Friday night’s 3-1 win against Aston Villa as he chipped in with a goal and an assist.
His dazzling displays have caught the eye of Neville, who told Sky Sports: “Cristiаno wаs the first person I ever heаrd to sаy he undoubtedly wаnted to be the best plаyer in the world.
“It’s quite unusuаl to heаr а plаyer [sаy thаt], becаuse everybody tаlks аbout the teаm аnd the collective.
“To heаr Mo Sаlаh sаy it is refreshing. I think you cаn sаy these things when you аre delivering, аnd these two hаve delivered now consistently.
“Ronaldo now for 10, 15 years and Mo Salah for five, six years, and beyond. They are absolutely deadly. They are ruthless and clinical.
“Everything that Smith Rowe [wants to be], he’s a beautiful footballer Smith Rowe, and he’s got a long way to go in his career. Cristiano Ronaldo wasn’t as clinical and ruthless at that age.
“But that’s where he has got to get to. To the point whereby every single game, they want to be the best. They want to score the winner. They believe they are going to score the winner. Confidence is unbelievable.’”
Arsenal are back in action on Tuesday evening as they host Leeds United in the EFL Cup and a victory will advance them to the next round.
