Ahead of the new season which is bound to kick off in less than 2 weeks, we tend to look at some of the things to expect throughout the campaign and how each of the premier league teams’ new signings will fare.
While enjoying the frenzy ahead of the first kickoff of the new season, it’s always a good idea to ask the big questions —
and make our best predictions for answers. So, put on your best football vibe, and let’s get to work!
1. FOOTBALL WELCOME FANS TO THE STADIUM ONCE AGAIN
The Covid-19 pandemic wreaked havoc around the world, disrupting the end of the 2019-20 season as well as the entire 2020-21 season. When a team received a string of positive tests or any COVID-19 related symptoms from either the players or backroom staff, Such players were abruptly removed from the game (via an isolation protocol or illness that could last weeks or months),
and some games were also canceled on several occasions of covid cases.
But following the announcement from the Prime minister last month on the return of fans to the stadium, the Premier League
has also made the following statement:
“Fans have been hugely missed so we welcome today’s announcement by the Government and are looking forward to full stadiums in the 2021/22 season.
“As we move towards a Government decision on Step 4 of the roadmap and beyond, we will continue to work with football stakeholders and relevant public authorities to ensure that the return to full capacity is done in a way that keeps everyone safe.”
hence, fans worldwide will be excited to cheer their favorite teams once again and it will be thrilling to see the fan roaring in each stand of the stadium.
2. SUMMER TRANSFER SIGNINGS
Football lovers across the globe will like to get a glimpse of their new summer recruits when the season gets started and some marquee signings will be on show for various clubs, the likes of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane (subject to medical), Ben White, Ibrahim Konate, Bryan Gil, etc. and Speculation will keep surrounding some players till a deal is done between both parties, players such as Harry Kane and Jack Grealish (who are both targeted by Manchester City).
fans would like to see how the new players fare and rate if their clubs spent well or another loss in the transfer window.
3. BRAGGING RIGHTS AND TITLE RACE
In the past ten seasons, five occasions (seasons) has treated us to a dominant league winner with up to 10+Pts gaps between first and second
which has made the title race not to be closely competitive but recently we’ve seen a thrilling end to a season when Man city managed to edge out Liverpool in the title race by just a point in the 2018/19 season and who can forget the 2011/12 season when the battle was keenly contested between the red devils and their noisy neighbors and it was until the final whistle of the season before the cityzens were crowned champions courtesy of a late goal from Sergio Aguero.
These are things fans want to see and more also the bragging rights between rivals, derby matches such as the North London derby (Arsenal vs Tottenham), Manchester Derby, Merseyside derby and the battle between the regular Top 7 clubs (if you put in Leicester city) for Top Four/European league places and the battle between the relegation-threatened teams.
